Mafia III Platinum Guide — All Trophies & Endings
Full Mafia III platinum roadmap: 2-playthrough plan, all 15 missable trophies, the 3 district endings, and glitch workarounds. 40–60 hours to 100%.
Getting the Mafia III platinum is one of the more forgiving open-world completion grinds of its generation — roughly a 3/10 difficulty and 40–60 hours, all of it offline. The catch isn't skill; it's planning. Fifteen trophies are missable, at least five are reportedly glitched, and two sets of trophies directly contradict each other, which is why the Mafia III platinum requires a minimum of two full playthroughs.

The 15 Missable Trophies (And Why They Matter)
Miss these and you're replaying the entire story. Here's the full list, grouped by why they're missable:
| Trophy | Missable Because… |
|---|---|
| We're in This Together | Requires an exact 3/3/3 district split |
| Just You and Me | Requires giving one underboss 6 free districts |
| Family | Requires max loyalty with all three underbosses |
| Trust | Same loyalty system |
| IRA Don't Ask | Burke's side missions — lost if you kill him |
| I Need a Favor | Vito's side missions — lost if you kill him |
| .45 in My Hand | Cassandra's side missions — lost if you kill her |
| The New Boss | Flip 16 racket bosses (cancels No Loose Ends) |
| No Loose Ends | Kill all racket bosses (cancels The New Boss) |
| Live Another Day | Recruit 15 informants (cancels Can't Trust a Rat) |
| Can't Trust a Rat | Kill 15 informants (cancels Live Another Day) |
| Softened 'Em Up | Kill all of a racket's Enforcers |
| I'm Goin' In | Attack a racket without killing Enforcers |
| Big Earner | Needs $10,000 earn from one underboss |
| Flambé | Limited Molotov-farming windows early in the game |
| Never Saw It Coming | Very few door-kick opportunities in the story |
The pattern is obvious: the underboss system drives most of the risk. Every choice you make about districts, loyalty, and who lives feeds directly into the ending trophies.
Playthrough 1: The "Flip Everyone" Run
This is your completionist run. The goal is to keep all three underbosses alive, reach maximum loyalty with each, and flip rather than kill.
District Assignment for "We're in This Together"
Give exactly these districts — and all rackets inside them — to these underbosses:
| Underboss | Districts |
|---|---|
| Cassandra | Delray Hollow, Barclay Mills, Frisco Fields |
| Burke | Pointe Verdun, Tickfaw Harbor, Southdowns |
| Vito | River Row, Downtown, French Ward |
Deviate from this list and the trophy won't pop. Note that each underboss receives one district automatically through the story, so you're only distributing the remaining six.
Racket Boss and Informant Choices
- Flip all 16 racket bosses → The New Boss
- Recruit 15 racket informants → Live Another Day
- Complete all three side-mission chains → IRA Don't Ask, I Need a Favor, .45 in My Hand, plus Family and Trust
Burke wants five vehicles delivered, Vito wants five enemies killed, and Cassandra wants five trucks brought in. Finish all of them on this run.
Money Trophies to Bank Here
| Trophy | Requirement | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Cash in Hand | $150,000 held at once | Bank everything via the Consigliere |
| Baby, You're a Rich Man | $500,000 earned (cumulative) | Stats carry across playthroughs |
| Hole in Your Pocket | $500,000 spent | Spend everything before starting run 2 |
Flipping informants and racket bosses increases your kickback earnings over time, so this run naturally produces the most cash. Put your money in the bank — you lose half of what's in your wallet when you die.
Playthrough 2: The "Kill Everyone" Run
Now you clean up the opposite choices. On this run:
- Kill all racket bosses → No Loose Ends
- Kill 15 racket informants → Can't Trust a Rat
- Assign all six free districts to a single underboss → Just You and Me and Big Earner
How the "Just You and Me" Ending Works
Pick one underboss — say Vito — and hand him every district you control. He ends up with seven total, while Cassandra and Burke keep only their automatic story district. Near the end of the game, you'll get the option to eliminate the other two.
Critical warning from community reports: do not complete any side missions for an underboss if you plan to kill them. The kill prompt may never appear. This is the single most common reason players miss the ending trophies.
Understanding Mafia III's Endings
The ending structure is simpler than it looks. Lincoln's final choice hinges on how many underbosses survive to the "Yet Here We Are" mission.
| Ending Path | Requirement | Trophy |
|---|---|---|
| All three survive | Balanced 3/3/3 district split | We're in This Together |
| One survives | Give one underboss 6 free districts, kill the others | Just You and Me |
| Lincoln's fate | Story-driven, unmissable | Before They Bury You |
The "Before They Bury You" trophy unlocks automatically regardless of which path you take, so you don't need to worry about it — but the two survival trophies are mutually exclusive and require separate saves or playthroughs.
Glitched Trophies and How to Handle Them
Community reports flag several trophies as unreliable: The New Boss, Baby You're a Rich Man, Combat Specialist, Closed Casket, and Family. There's no universal fix, but these habits reduce risk:
- Avoid checkpoint restarts when farming. Let enemies kill you and respawn naturally — restarting from a checkpoint can fail to register progress.
- Keep a manual save before major district assignments.
- If a trophy doesn't pop after the requirement is clearly met, reload an earlier save and redo the final step.
Stats like takedown counts and total earnings carry across playthroughs, so a trophy that fails to trigger on run one may still fire on run two.
Fast Farming Spots for Combat Trophies
Combat Specialist (300 takedowns), Shh, shh (100 stealth takedowns), and Closed Casket (50 brutal takedowns) all stack across playthroughs. The most efficient farm is provoking police into a hostile state and chaining takedowns on them.
| Trophy | Best Spot | Method |
|---|---|---|
| Recruited to 5th SFG | French Ward police station | Throw a Screaming Zemi into the garage, then headshot the crowd |
| Flambé | "The Home Fires Burn" mission | Keep a weak pistol, shoot the Molotov thrower on his callout |
| Never Saw It Coming | Second story mission | Kick the door, spin, and shoot a goon |
| Sending A Message | Any police encounter | Three brutal takedowns in a row, no other kills |
| Custom 358 | Frisco Fields → Barclay Mills | Downhill bridge route at 120+ mph for 20 seconds |
For Flambé specifically, listen for the enemy shouting "Throwing Molotov," "Firebomb," or "Fire from the Sky" — that's your cue to fire. A low-damage pistol is essential; a rifle will kill him outright instead of making him drop the bottle.
Vehicle and Open-World Trophies
A handful of trophies reward exploration rather than combat. You'll want a fast sports car — the De'Leo Stiletto spawns rarely in Frisco Fields traffic and is the community-favored pick.
- Testing the Shocks: Use the dirt ramp at the construction site in northwest Frisco Fields and land on your wheels.
- New Bordeaux Drifter: Drift for 5+ seconds in the mud near a safehouse.
- One Good Turn: Handbrake-turn 180 degrees at speed without hitting anything.
- Wrecker: Ten vehicle takedowns — they don't need to be in one chase.
- Bon Appétit! / Next Time Swim Faster: Head to the Bayou rivers and interact with the alligators.
Vehicle tuning upgrades unlock later in the story and make several of these dramatically easier, so don't stress if you can't hit 120 mph early on.
